Stayed on Monday evening at Ibis hotel in Laon. Good hotel but got in very late - after spending the morning at the British War Graves.
I have always avoided McDonald's, but we found that all restaurants seem to close at 8pm so we walked and walked and even the supermarket was closed. A light in the darkness came from the Big M. I have never been so happy to see it as last night. I had a salmon fillet that was under cooked and when it was returned, was burnt and the same chips were cold. I returned it again and did without !! Good for the waistline though!!
However Big M did sell cold Heinenken which we needed to revive our drooping spirits.
